About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Labourer to join our team at Duncan's Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our sheet metal fabrication shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Metal Cleaning Equipment: Safely operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.
  • Assist Metal Workers: Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers in their daily tasks.
  • Material Handling: Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials, and ensure they are properly stored and organized.
  • Metal Preparation: Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools, and clean machines and immediate work areas.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload vehicles with metal products and materials.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Setting: Our sheet metal fabrication shop is a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks and physically demanding work.
  • Physical Capabilities: You will be required to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and have manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Weight Handling and Safety
  • Weight Handling: You will be required to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) of metal products and materials.
  • Safety Equipment: You will be required to wear steel-toed safety boots and follow all safety protocols in the workplace.
