Job Summary

Brightshores is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and promoting a safe and supportive environment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet their physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and educating patients and families on health-related topics.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a culture of patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibility.
  • Ability to interpret basic arrhythmias and work on Medical/Surgical Unit as required.
  • Current certification in ACLS, PALS, BCLS, and CTAS, or willingness to obtain.
  • Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Assessment and interviewing skills.
  • Ability to escort patients via ambulance services when required.
  • Flexibility to meet unit, staff, and patient needs.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
  • Ability to work all shifts.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Participation in staff meetings and unit-specific projects.
  • Communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Recent satisfactory attendance and performance.
  • Adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Emergency Nursing Certificate.
  • Physical Assessment Course.
  • TNCC or equivalent.
  • Recent Medical/Surgical/PACU/Day Surgery/Critical Care experience.
  • Two years recent Emergency experience.
  • NRP.
