This role encompasses a 0.50 FTE position in Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and a 0.50 FTE position in Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) within the South Okanagan region.

The ACT program serves individuals with severe and persistent mental health challenges and substance use disorders, delivering services in the community. Clients often face significant functional challenges and may struggle to access conventional mental health services. The ACT team comprises multidisciplinary professionals who collaborate to provide comprehensive treatment, rehabilitation, and support, aiming to alleviate mental health issues and prevent acute episodes.

The EPI program fosters collaborative approaches to promote resilience, recovery, and independence for individuals over 19 experiencing their first episode of psychosis. This service emphasizes teamwork among the interdisciplinary staff, clients, families, and their communities to support recovery through timely and compassionate care.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, implementing programs, providing consultations, prescribing equipment, and educating patients and their caregivers. Utilizing a client-centered approach, you will be an integral member of our interdisciplinary team, significantly contributing to enhancing functional independence and helping patients achieve optimal health outcomes. Additionally, you will guide Rehabilitation Assistants within the rehabilitation team regarding functional transfers.
