Director of Facilities Planning and Projects

About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Planning and Projects, Facilities and Real Estate to lead the planning, design, and implementation of facilities strategies and projects for assigned regions and functional areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of facilities planning and project initiatives, coordinating and resolving conflicts and overlaps between projects and other initiatives within the portfolio.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and leadership to designated staff, ensuring the culture is one in which individual competencies can thrive.
- Develop annual operating budgets for the department, monitoring expenditures and performing variance analysis and reporting.
- Serve as a member of the Planning & Projects leadership team, participating in the development and approval of annual goals and objectives.
- Establish detailed project charters, plans, and objectives to outline project goals and deliverables, ensuring readiness for project implementation.
- Manage the strategic and conceptual planning, design, and implementation of a portfolio of facilities projects, working with internal and external stakeholders, consultants, and leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
- Professional designation, supplemented with seven to ten years' recent, related experience in progressively more complex leadership roles in a large multi-site organization managing the planning, design, and construction of facilities projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of facilities project delivery processes, including planning, design, construction, and procurement within current standards, codes, bylaws, and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage major facilities projects from concept to completion, with comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
