We seek passionate individuals who are solutions-oriented to drive vital programs and services impacting Albertans. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute to the GoA's cybersecurity strategy, uphold the Information Security Management Directives (ISMD), and ensure that risk management and security measures are integrated into all IT operations. Your duties will include:

  • Leading or coordinating various projects and initiatives
  • Supporting the delivery of the Cybersecurity Program for the GoA

  • Presenting cybersecurity frameworks and policy instruments to leadership.

To excel in this position, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and processes while delivering high-quality outcomes within set timelines.
  • Competence in leading and managing resources to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate complex issues and synthesize findings for actionable recommendations.
  • Proficient negotiation, mediation, and facilitation skills to navigate diverse stakeholder perspectives.
  • Effective influencing, coaching, and conflict resolution abilities.

Required Qualifications

  • A relevant university degree (e.g., Computer Science) with a minimum of four (4) years of related experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for conveying information to varied audiences.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and risk management principles.
  • Experience in a large enterprise environment focusing on compliance, risk management, and cybersecurity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CRISC, CISM, CCSP).

Equivalencies:
A two-year diploma in a related field with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience; a one-year certificate with at least seven (7) years of experience; or a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience.

This is a permanent, full-time position with standard working hours of 36.25 per week, Monday to Friday. Pre-employment checks will be conducted to evaluate the candidate's suitability for the role. While remote work is an option, candidates must reside in Alberta. Regular visits to the office may be required.
