Position Overview: Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Communication Specialist to become a vital part of our Public Health team.
Role Responsibilities: As a Pediatric Communication Specialist, you will:
- Deliver family-oriented speech and language services to children from birth to school entry (up to 5 years) and their families.
- Engage in community consultation and education.
- Implement a population health strategy focusing on primary prevention and promoting healthy communication within the community.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess:
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic principles, procedures, and best practices in speech-language pathology, particularly for the early childhood demographic.
- Specialized understanding of early childhood development and family-centered service principles.
Skills: The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with children, families, team members, and community partners.
- Proficiency in operating computer systems and related technology.
