Nurse Practitioner

The Nurse Practitioner role at Interior Health Authority involves providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional care to patients in the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients, working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Enhance the quality of life for patients and their families, consulting and collaborating with other healthcare providers as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and evidence-based practice in nursing.
- Maintain and advance your clinical competence through ongoing education and training.
- Participate in designated hospital committees and approved research projects as assigned.
About this Opportunity:
This is a casual opportunity, which means hours are not guaranteed and may vary. Shifts may be scheduled at short notice. As a casual employee, you will be eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions. Many opportunities with Interior Health Authority begin with casual employment and lead to regular employment.
Shifts will be scheduled days and nights, rotating from 07:00 to 19:15, 19:00 to 07:15 hours. The hourly wage for this position will be $41.42 to $55.91, effective April 1, 2024.
About this Location/Unit:
The VJH Emergency Department offers 26 beds, two trauma rooms, and two secure rooms, located in the new Polson Tower. Our bright and spacious ED has been designed with consideration for privacy, confidentiality, infection control measures, and state-of-the-art technology in equipment, communication devices, and care delivery processes.
