Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Bus Driver to join our team at Bouchier. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting employees and team members to and from locations within oil sand sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe Transportation: Operate commercial buses in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring the well-being of passengers. Adhere strictly to traffic laws and company safety guidelines.
  • Route Planning: Plan efficient routes to pick up and drop off employees at designated locations, considering factors like traffic and weather conditions.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, reporting any issues or needed repairs promptly. Ensure the bus is in optimal working condition.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety procedures, including the use of seatbelts, and maintain an orderly and secure environment on the bus.
  • Communication: Provide clear and courteous communication to passengers, addressing any concerns or inquiries professionally.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily trips, mileage, and fuel consumption. Submit required reports and documentation as needed.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the bus clean and presentable both inside and out, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic environment for passengers.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1 or Class 2 Driver's License: With air brake endorsement.
  • Clean 5-Year Driver's Abstract: A recent driver's abstract must be provided for review as a pre-qualification requirement of employment.
  • Previous Experience: As a commercial bus driver, particularly in an industrial or construction environment, is highly preferred.
  • Strong Knowledge: Of traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
  • Ability to Work Independently: And make sound decisions, especially in challenging conditions.
  • Physical Fitness: To perform routine vehicle inspections and assist passengers when necessary.
  • Language Proficiency: All applicants must have the ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
  • Safety Orientation: One of the following basic safety orientations is required: CSTS09 or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019).
