Key qualifications include:

  1. Modeling experience in Matlab/C/systemVerilog
  2. Analog background in high-speed analog CMOS circuit design
  3. Digital experience with DSP
  4. Hardware awareness on per-protocol handling of RX and TX adaptation; hands-on experience in measurement of transceiver performance
  5. Communications theory experience in equalization, coding, noise/crosstalk filtering

Desirable Experience:

  1. Experience in analyzing link budgets for high-speed serial links
  2. Familiarity with modeling of SERDES transceivers in Matlab or similar tools
  3. Knowledge of circuit topologies in high-speed Rx/Tx SerDes PHY
  4. Understanding of Tx/Rx equalization techniques
  5. Knowledge of CDR architectures and CDR loop dynamics
  6. Knowledge of common high-speed serial data protocols
  7. Experience in lab testing of high-speed serial links
