Job Summary

Assent Compliance Inc. is seeking a seasoned Software Development Manager - Security to lead our Security team in delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions that address key business problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports to ensure they are motivated and engaged in delivering high-quality software.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing and engaged team of software developers.
  • Coach the team to deliver high-quality, scalable features that fit Assent's business context and solve problems for our customers.
  • Champion product quality in the team and ensure that software development processes are followed.
  • Oversee Identity and Access Management (IAM) alignment with the architecture team.
  • Manage product releases by monitoring progress to plan and proactively making necessary adjustments to meet delivery schedules and requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a rapport with other teams in the product value chain to represent IAM.
  • In partnership with the Application Security team:
    • Analyze reports from security scans, prioritize them, and drive an action plan for closure.
    • Maintain awareness of evolving threats, trends, and technologies, and perform knowledge sharing with other team members.
  • Evangelize, maintain, and improve product development processes within and across teams.
  • Ensure the team is developing software that follows Assent's Design Guidelines, Coding Standards, Security Guidelines, and any other guidelines provided by the Architecture team.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a Software Development role, with a proven track record in a similar leadership role.
  • Experience with and understanding of cloud-native AWS and/or cloud infrastructure platforms and their security.
  • Familiarity with security control frameworks like the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Security Control Framework (SCF).
