Position Title: Community Engagement Specialist

Become an integral part of Les Petits Frères, a reputable organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of isolated seniors. Our committed team of staff and volunteers works tirelessly to fulfill our mission of supporting elderly individuals.
As a Community Engagement Specialist, you will collaborate with the regional coordinator and fellow team members to design and implement summer activities aimed at reducing loneliness among our Great Friends. Your role will also involve visiting seniors who are unable to participate in community events.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of diverse activities and entertainment for seniors, in partnership with team members
- Provide logistical assistance for organizing events and outings
- Facilitate specific activities
- Conduct visits to seniors in their residences, long-term care facilities, or hospitals
- Communicate any changes in the living conditions, health status, or concerns of Great Friends to the designated staff
- Perform follow-up calls to seniors and volunteers
- Help coordinate occasional outings for elderly individuals
- Document notes in the participant files
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing post-secondary education (preferably completed 2nd year) in fields such as special education, social work, recreational therapy, psychoeducation, psychology, or similar disciplines
- Passion for supporting the elderly community
- Understanding of the culture within non-profit organizations
- Ability to foster meaningful relationships
- Strong diplomatic and listening abilities
- Excellent organizational skills and self-sufficiency
- Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving
Employment Details
- Temporary position for a duration of 8 weeks
- 35 hours of work per week
- Hourly compensation of $19
- Flexible working hours with a combination of in-person and remote work
