Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to enhance our geotechnical engineering team. This role involves leading the development and implementation of geotechnical services for various projects, including heavy civil works such as water storage facilities, tailings management, and industrial infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project management activities, ensuring timely initiation, coordination, and execution of geotechnical projects.
  • Engage in business development efforts to expand our client base and project opportunities.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to intermediate and junior engineering staff.
  • Plan and conduct geotechnical site investigations, ensuring thorough data collection and analysis.
  • Perform site inspections to assess conditions and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct geotechnical design and analysis, focusing on soil and rock mechanics, slope stability, and foundation design.
  • Prepare detailed reports and technical documentation to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Supervise site activities and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.
  • Proficient in geotechnical analysis software, including GeoStudio and LPile.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork as project demands dictate.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and eligibility to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale civil earthworks projects.
  • Familiarity with the design and inspection of earthen dams and tailings facilities.
