Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a Senior R&D Chemist to become a vital part of our Research and Development team. This is a full-time, permanent role that necessitates on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced research across various cosmetic categories, focusing on the development of innovative formulas and the re-engineering of benchmark products.
  • Analyze technical challenges related to formulations and processes, providing scientifically grounded recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during the pilot and initial production phases of new formulations.
  • Investigate and source cutting-edge functional raw materials and skincare actives, preparing lab batches for evaluation.
  • Prepare lab samples for external testing and reformulate existing products to enhance stability and performance.
  • Establish product specifications by assessing the physical and chemical properties of raw materials and formulations.
  • Identify necessary validations, safety assessments, and microbiological testing during the formulation development process.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, SOPs, GMP, GLP, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Document all stages of the R&D process, preparing clear reports and providing updates to the Project Management team.
  • Oversee and mentor other R&D staff, delegating tasks and evaluating performance to achieve company goals.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in formulation within an innovative skincare environment.
  • Familiarity with formulation software, particularly Coptis, is advantageous but not essential.
  • Solid understanding of product behavior and stability challenges in skincare formulations.
  • Knowledge of GLP and GMP guidelines, as well as regulatory standards relevant to the skincare and cosmetics sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in scaling up, piloting, and commercializing skincare formulations.
