Position Overview


As a Catering Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to guests while ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This role involves greeting patrons, taking food orders, and delivering meals in a timely manner.


Department: Full Service Restaurants & Catering | UBC Food Services


Compensation: $23.32 CAD per hour


Key Responsibilities


  1. Welcome and seat guests; accurately take and deliver food orders.
  2. Possess thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods, to effectively assist guests.
  3. Address all food and service-related inquiries, ensuring guest satisfaction and accommodating special requests.
  4. Collaborate with kitchen staff and fellow team members to maintain efficient service operations.
  5. Assist in managing food inventory and placing approved orders as necessary.
  6. Prepare service areas, ensuring proper stock levels and cleanliness.
  7. Clear and clean tables and dining areas to maintain a tidy environment.
  8. Set up dining tables with appropriate linens, utensils, and glassware.
  9. Ensure quality control of food items before serving.
  10. Perform additional duties as required to support the catering operations.

Qualifications


Applicants should have completed Grade 10 and possess at least one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
