Job Overview

We are currently seeking a Finance Business Partner Manager to join our Management Analytics (MA) team within the Finance division at CPP Investments. The MA group is dedicated to delivering financial insights and data-driven analysis to support effective decision-making at both departmental and organizational levels.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance Business Partner, the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in assisting private investment divisions. This position involves contributing to the development of tailored reporting, analytics, and insights related to investment performance, costs, and risk exposure. The candidate will be expected to cultivate a broad network across the organization to facilitate collaboration and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance Business Partner to:
  • Aid in the preparation of financial analyses for investment departments, effectively communicating the narrative behind the data to stakeholders using advanced data visualization techniques.
  • Enhance analytical capabilities to derive insights on departmental performance and resource utilization, including workforce, expenses, and capital.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure the accuracy and relevance of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Assist in the annual business planning process, helping to formulate both annual and long-term budgets that align with departmental strategies and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships within the Finance team and across departments, collaborating with subject matter experts to drive financial analysis and reporting.
  • Foster effective working relationships within the team and across CPP Investments, including investment departments and the Chief Investment Officer's office.
  • Address ad-hoc requests to support Board discussions, evaluate investment programs, and identify value drivers.
  • Actively contribute to the development and mentorship of junior team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, reporting, stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and project management.
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional designations such as CFA, CPA, or MBA are advantageous.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with a track record of creating impactful presentation materials.
  • A commercial mindset combined with a keen interest in detail, enabling tailored solutions and recommendations.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, Tableau, and/or Power BI is considered beneficial.
  • Candidates should embody CPP Investments' core principles of high performance, integrity, and collaboration.
