Position Summary
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, addressing emergency repairs, and responding promptly to routine maintenance requests for our facilities and equipment. Your role is vital in ensuring that our living spaces are safe, functional, and welcoming for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and equipment.
- Stay updated on relevant codes and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Provide 24-hour maintenance support, including after-hours emergency response.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Promote a culture of health and safety by adhering to safe working practices.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on furniture, plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, and appliances.
- Perform maintenance on heavy-duty equipment and assist in training team members.
- Develop and monitor preventative maintenance schedules and participate in safety discussions.
Qualifications
- Preferred post-secondary education in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance or a related area.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
