Job Summary

DUCA Financial Services Credit Union Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Member Service Representative to join our dynamic Bowmanville branch team. As a key member of our retail banking team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, identifying opportunities to help our members achieve their financial goals, and promoting our services to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to members, answer inquiries, and strive to increase member satisfaction through service provided.
  • Transaction Processing: Handle member requests for deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other basic transactions.
  • Product Promotion: Promote DUCA's services by explaining benefits and features of our solutions.
  • Financial Needs Identification: Identify and fulfill members' financial service needs, including cashing and certifying cheques, processing bill payments, ordering cheques, buying/selling foreign currencies, processing member statements, identifying the need for travel insurance, processing RRSP and term deposit transactions, assisting members in getting a debit card, and online banking set up.
  • Referral and Escalation: Make referrals to specialists and advisors as required and solve member issues, knowing when to escalate if necessary.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in the counting of large cash deposits, rotate with staff to cover reception duties and tasks, and assist with general office duties, processing, and administration as required.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Post-Secondary School preferred).
  • Experience: Experience helping members or customers in either a bank or credit union for a minimum of 2 years considered an asset.
  • Skills: Basic mathematical skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a keen attention to detail and emotional intelligence.

DUCA Financial Services Credit Union Ltd. offers a competitive hourly rate starting at $19.97, with actual hourly rates varying depending on relevant job-related factors. Our total compensation package may include incentive compensation tied to company and individual performance or other benefits.
