Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our team at Scotiabank. As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for setting standards, taxonomy, and naming conventions for Scotia ServiceNow foundational data. You will also be accountable for the implementation of platform foundational data in accordance with the CSDM framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain data governance standards and procedures across all instances.
  • Manage data-related requests for ServiceNow foundational data, ensuring completeness and correctness of data and data relationships.
  • Design, document, and manage IT business processes associated with platform foundational data source, creation, management, and retirement.
  • Coordinate and assist with the execution of data governance and control requests related to enterprise governance and audit.
  • Assist DevOps and UAT teams in the development of test data.
  • Design, develop, and regularly generate reports to communicate and monitor compliance.
  • Analyze exception data to identify potential accuracy issues, investigate, and report on issues and remediation options.
  • Control gap analysis to identify root causes of incorrect data and recommend remedial actions.
  • Assist in identifying and defining needed enhancements in foundational data and new categories that would add value to the platform capabilities.
  • Reconcile foundational data and assist in conducting configuration audits.
Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of CSDM 3.0 and/or 4.0.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL concepts and ITIL V.4 certification is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience in data governance.
  • ServiceNow architecture experience is a plus.
  • Good understanding of data lineage concepts and data governance tools.
  • Good knowledge of monitoring, configuration management, SAM, and HAM tools.
  • Very good knowledge of ServiceNow integration Hub.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience and possess problem-solving, analytical, and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • General understanding of other computer systems outside the area of specialty.
  • Ability to work with non-technical users.
  • Requires post-secondary education with a focus on Computer Science or Engineering disciplines.
  • Good understanding of data mining.
  • Very good understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Good understanding of the ETL process.
