Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Dynacare. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest quality of laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain quality blood samples and other specimens from patients, utilizing phlebotomy techniques that prioritize patient comfort and safety.
- Accurately enter patient and test information into our system, ensuring seamless data management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Sort and process specimens, perform ECGs, Holter Hookups, paternity, urine, drug, and breath alcohol collections, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient care.
- Ensure all confidential information is handled securely and in accordance with Dynacare's policies and procedures.
- Contribute to meeting departmental and corporate quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and quality indicators.
- Completion of Secondary School and a Laboratory Assistant training program or a Medical Lab Assistance course with specialized training in phlebotomy.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a genuine care for patients' health and well-being.
- Ability to manage anxious patients through the sample obtaining process in a calm and reassuring manner.
- Prioritize and self-manage within a deadline-oriented environment.
- Extreme attention to detail and proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
