Position Overview

The Sessional Instructor will oversee a half-credit course focused on Social Innovation, designed for graduate students across various programs. This course emphasizes key learning outcomes related to interdisciplinary collaboration, social innovation, and effective project management, culminating in a comprehensive group project.

Course Structure

The course will be conducted weekly, with the instructor responsible for all teaching and administrative duties. Additionally, the instructor will provide two hours of consultation each week for student support. There may be further administrative responsibilities associated with the course following its conclusion. Instruction will include guiding interdisciplinary student teams engaged in experiential learning projects in collaboration with community organizations, both in tutorials and online.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must possess a master's degree in management or a related discipline, along with experience in coaching teams on experiential learning projects. Preference will be given to candidates with a doctoral degree in management and a proven track record in graduate-level interdisciplinary education. Prior experience in university-level teaching at the master's level is essential, as is demonstrated effectiveness in teaching. Candidates with expertise in social innovation, collaboration, and project management will be prioritized.

Compensation

The remuneration for this position is set at $6,478 per course, in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement.
