Audit and Advisory Services Leader

Job Summary:
The Senior Director, Audit and Advisory Services is a key member of the Company 1 - The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company team, responsible for leading the audit and advisory services function. This role requires a strong understanding of risk management and audit principles, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a risk-based audit plan to ensure adequate audit coverage and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the audit team, ensuring that audit activities are conducted in accordance with Company 1 - The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with management to identify and assess risks, and develop recommendations to mitigate or manage those risks.
- Conduct audits and reviews to ensure that Company 1 - The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company's financial statements and other reports are accurate and reliable.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, audit committees, and external auditors.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry developments, and ensure that Company 1 - The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company's audit and advisory services function is aligned with best practices.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of risk management and audit principles, including financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess risks, and develop recommendations to mitigate or manage those risks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand the Company 1 - The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company's business objectives and strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification in accounting or auditing, such as CPA or CMA.
- Experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of risk management and audit principles.
- Strong knowledge of Company 1 - The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company's policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
