Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at School District #41 (Burnaby). As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks, including new construction, renovation, and maintenance of our school buildings and structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform carpentry work, including construction, renovation, and maintenance of school buildings and structures
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with safety protocols and regulations
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and facilities staff to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations
  • Develop and implement efficient work methods and procedures to meet project deadlines
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent)
  • Successful completion of the B.C. Apprenticeship Program and a valid BC or Interprovincial Journeyman Carpenter Trades Qualification (TQ)
  • Four years related work experience as a Journeyman (post TQ)
  • Demonstrated training and work experience in current BC construction/maintenance safety requirements
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5)
  • Experience in cabinet making (Joinery) is a definite asset
  • Experience using production line shop joinery equipment such as table saws, edger, joiner, and dowel machines are an asset
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. A valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5) is required for this position.
