Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Site Assistant / Carpenter to join our team, responsible for carpentry and hands-on work on various job sites throughout the Lower Mainland. This role offers opportunities for growth and development, including potential advancement to Site Foreman and Site Superintendent positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Site Superintendents in maintaining site operations and ensuring smooth project execution
  • Perform carpentry tasks, including handyman work, carpentry projects (e.g., backing, building hoarding, formwork)
  • Provide site assistance, including various tasks required by site personnel
  • Identify and address deficiencies, ensuring all items are completed at project close
  • Maintain site cleanliness and organization, ensuring efficient trade access
  • Expedite project schedules through efficient and quality work

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in the construction industry
  • Trade qualification or carpentry ticket (Apprentices at Level 1, 2, 3, or Red Seal Carpenters are also considered)
  • Construction knowledge, including hands-on skills, carpentry assistance, and understanding of construction materials, tools, and machinery
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate with site supervisors, team members, and subcontractors
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with construction personnel, equipment operators, supervisors, crew, and subcontractors
  • Independent transportation and ability to travel to different sites
