Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team at Coast Tire & Auto Service Ltd. As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex issues with commercial transport trucks and automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Repair Issues: Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify problems with truck systems and components, and perform repairs and replacements as needed.
  • Inspect and Test Units: Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions, and test units to confirm findings.
  • Communicate with Supervisors: Discuss work with supervisors to determine the best course of action for repairs and replacements.
  • Provide Customer Service: Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Coach and Instruct Apprentices: Coach and instruct apprentices on repair techniques and best practices.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Hold Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification, Automotive Service Technician (Steering, Suspension and Brakes) Trade Certification, and Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate.
  • Area of Specialization: Have expertise in engine repair, electrical and electronic systems, diagnostics, alignment, steering and suspension, brake systems, fuel and emission systems, ignition and electrical systems, drive train components, and front end components.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with dusty, dirty, and noisy conditions.
  • Physical Capabilities: Stand for extended periods, have hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and manual dexterity.
