Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to take on the role of Senior Forensic Community Nurse. This position involves overseeing and managing daily operations, offering clinical guidance, and ensuring high-quality care for clients within a forensic psychiatric environment.
- Oversee staff operations to guarantee effective delivery of client care
- Serve as a clinical advisor for the multidisciplinary team
- Provide updates regarding BC Review Board matters
- Mentor team members and organize staff training sessions
- Manage requests for leave of absence
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with active registration
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role
- Possession of a valid BC Driver's License
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of nursing principles and Forensic Psychiatric Nursing practices
- Familiarity with applicable legislation and professional practice standards
- Commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism initiatives
- Awareness of the social, economic, political, and historical factors affecting Indigenous communities
