The Parks Maintenance Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of various outdoor spaces managed by the Corner Brook Stream Development Corporation. No formal education such as a degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.

Work Environment

The work is primarily conducted outdoors, often in conditions that may be wet, damp, or hot.

Work Setting

Employees will work at various locations, including:

  • Park and recreation sites
  • Community associations
  • Non-profit organizations
Key Responsibilities

The main tasks include:

  • Weeding, pruning, and trimming trees and plants
  • Mowing grass
  • Raking and collecting refuse
  • Removing litter and garbage
  • Transporting and spreading topsoil and other materials
  • Laying sod or seeding
  • Planting bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees
  • Applying fertilizers
Equipment Proficiency

Experience with equipment such as a weed trimmer or edger is preferred.

Safety and Security

A valid driving record check (abstract) is required for this position.

Transportation Requirements

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
