Job Summary

Propak Systems Ltd. is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Designer with a focus on Heat Trace for our Airdrie, AB office. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for oil and gas processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems, including heat trace, for oil and gas processing facilities.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and drafting coordinators to ensure design meets project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed design and deliverables, including layouts, sketches, and schematics.
  • Investigate design factors, such as ease of manufacture, material availability, and contractual specifications.
  • Design layouts and drawings, ensuring clarity, completeness, and conformity to codes and standards.
  • Conform to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and economy of fabrication.
  • Coordinate assigned engineering and design work with other project groups.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Engineering Design Drafting Technology (EDDT).
  • ASET membership is an asset.
  • 2-3 years of directly related experience in electrical Heat Trace design of oil and gas processing facilities in the Canadian industry.
  • Experience with an EPC work environment.
  • Fabrication shop designing experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2010 and higher.
  • 1-2 years' experience with 3D Cadworx.
  • 2+ years' experience with 2D Acad.
  • Experience with AutoDesk programs including AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Familiarity with CEC, industry regulations, and standards.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
