Job Title: Education Assistant

Job Summary:

The Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate School Division is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with various degrees of need in the learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to students with special programming needs under the direction and supervision of the Inclusive Education Liaison, classroom teacher, and principal.
  • Engage students in all aspects of their educational program, requiring physical fitness and a collaborative team-based structure.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of the school community.
  • Participate in new learning opportunities and take responsibility for individual student needs.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team-based learning structure.

Requirements:

  • Education Assistant Certificate and/or Diploma or Rehabilitation Practitioner Certificate and/or Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one-year experience working with students with special programming needs.
  • First Aid training.
  • Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments Training (SIVA) Certificate.
  • Training and experience with augmentative communication systems.
  • Experience working on academic goals with students who have multiple barriers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Brain Story Certification through Alberta Family Wellness.
