Job Title: School Assistant - Lunchtime Supervisor

Job Summary:

The York Region District School Board is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of School Assistant - Lunchtime Supervisor. As a key member of our team, you will provide supervisory support to teaching staff during peak periods of the school day, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervisory support to teaching staff during lunch periods and other critical times of the school day
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during supervised periods
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement and inclusivity
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful school culture

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
