Role Overview

As an Assistant Builder, you will step into an entry-level management role that supports the Builder in ensuring the efficient and timely construction of homes. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing various facets of the construction process, maintaining high-quality standards, and striving to deliver an exceptional homeowner experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Builder in adhering to Mattamy's construction processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in managing the construction of assigned homes, ensuring they meet all quality assurance standards.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, prepared to discuss critical topics such as safety, quality, and production timelines.
  • Monitor daily trade activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of homes to identify any issues and ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Collaborate with the Builder to schedule and conduct homeowner frame walks.
  • Assist in supervising on-site construction personnel and resolving day-to-day site challenges.
  • Order necessary materials for construction projects.
  • Coordinate with trade partners to facilitate smooth production operations.
  • Assist in scheduling municipal inspections and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Help manage the production schedule and ensure it is updated regularly.
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure a clean work environment during construction.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the homebuilding industry preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Familiarity with BuildPro is an asset.
  • Strong technical understanding of homebuilding processes.
  • Commitment to delivering quality products and a positive homeowner experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Ontario Building Codes and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage responsibilities effectively.
