Equipment Operator - Heavy Machinery Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team in Hinton, Alberta. As a member of the Sutherland Group, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, including wheel loaders, power screens, and excavators, in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate wheel loaders to move material, feed into screening plants, and load trucks.
  • Feed or move material into and away from screening plants using power screens.
  • Feed material into screening plants and separate screened materials using excavators.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Operate other heavy equipment as required and instructed by site supervisors.
  • Ability to travel to various job sites as required.
  • Ensure company policies, core values, and culture are consistently upheld.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating wheel loaders or excavators.
  • Experience working around screening plants is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic daily equipment maintenance.
  • Motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and proven safety record.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Physically fit and able to walk uneven ground, chip piles, and log yard locations.
