Job Title: Medical Lead

Island Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Lead to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to our medical services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Collaborate with the Department Head and other Division Heads to ensure high-quality medical services are delivered across the organization.
  • Operations & Quality: Develop and implement processes to enhance teamwork and continuous quality improvement of laboratory services.
  • Change Management: Champion change management initiatives to engage and support physicians and staff.
  • Informatics: Lead team activities to advance technology and data use to improve service delivery.
  • Planning: Assess, monitor, and anticipate team resource needs and work with medical leaders and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Department Head and other Division Heads to address matters of physician governance.
  • Develop and implement processes to engage physicians and staff in continuous quality improvement of service delivery.
  • Act as a change management champion to engage and support physicians and staff through change.
  • Lead team activities to advance technology and data use to improve service delivery.
  • Assess, monitor, and anticipate team resource needs and work with medical leaders and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement processes to enhance teamwork and continuous quality improvement.
  • Experience in change management and informatics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a co-leadership model.
