Your Opportunity:
In this role, you will work autonomously while reporting directly to the Facility Manager. The Senior Maintenance Technician, in collaboration with the Facilities Operations Center, ensures continuous maintenance and operational support for the facility. You will be responsible for monitoring and addressing all aspects of facility safety, emergency situations, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and grounds maintenance, executing repair tasks, and performing custodial duties. A thorough understanding of various building systems and familiarity with departmental and site protocols is essential.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities will encompass a range of advanced and intricate maintenance and repair tasks that demand significant initiative and discernment in selecting the appropriate work methods aligned with established standards, regulations, and procedures. You will leverage your supervisory and maintenance expertise to conduct preventative maintenance and repair operations on specialized equipment and building control systems, while also providing guidance and direction to fellow maintenance personnel to fulfill operational needs. Furthermore, you will engage in specialized machinery repairs and oversee the maintenance and monitoring of systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Address escalated operational challenges.
- Act as a representative for the Facility Manager on operational matters.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection process for new team members.
- Assist in the design and execution of preventative maintenance initiatives.
- Estimate project expenses and collaborate with external agencies and contractors.
Required Qualifications:
A post-secondary education in a relevant field and/or technical certification in a related discipline is required, or a 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate in accordance with ABSA kW rating guidelines when boiler support is necessary.
