About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Pelican Rapids Development Ltd. as a Line Cook. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, and ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, including determining the size of food portions and costs, requisitioning food and kitchen supplies, and preparing dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, and order supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Clean kitchen and work areas, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to food safety and handling procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and experience in a commercial kitchen environment, preferably in a restaurant or catering firm.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Safe Food Handling certificate, and Food Safety Certificate.
  • Language: English or French.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position with a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.
