Position Overview:

The role of a Bridgeworker involves the execution of various tasks related to the construction and maintenance of bridge structures, ensuring safety and quality standards are met throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of routine and intricate repairs on timber, concrete, and steel bridge frameworks, including tasks such as concrete formwork, finishing, and component replacements.
  • Engage in the construction and rehabilitation of multi-span bridges, encompassing timber, concrete, cable, and steel structures.
  • Operate heavy machinery, including but not limited to skid steers, loaders, dozers, excavators, and pile drivers.
  • Possess extensive field experience in civil bridge construction and maintenance.
  • Demonstrate site supervision and management capabilities, which are advantageous.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental practices.
  • Interpret technical specifications and project drawings effectively.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of worksite safety and operational procedures pertinent to bridge construction and the Bridgeworker or Carpentry trade.
  • Possession of a Certified Red Seal Bridgeworker and/or Certified Red Seal Carpenter designation is an asset.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors under varying weather conditions.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license is mandatory; Class 3 or Class 1 licenses are preferred.
