ABOUT THE POSITION

The Chief Financial Officer will be instrumental in directing the financial trajectory of October's Very Own Merchandising, managing all facets of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and strategic initiatives. Reporting directly to the CFO/COO, the CFO will deliver strategic financial leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the enduring financial vitality and prosperity of the organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Formulate and execute comprehensive financial strategies to bolster the company's growth ambitions.
  • Spearhead the annual budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring alignment with strategic aims and objectives.
  • Assess and scrutinize financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks, offering insights and recommendations to enhance financial results.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Supervise the preparation and dissemination of precise and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal stakeholders, executive management, and the Board of Directors.
  • Conduct regular financial assessments and variance analyses to uncover trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide data-driven recommendations for enhancement.

Treasury Management:

  • Oversee cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to maximize financial efficiency and stability.
  • Develop and implement strategies for cash forecasting, investment, and risk management.
  • Manage banking relationships, debt financing, and capital structure initiatives.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to all pertinent financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting obligations.
  • Establish and uphold effective internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate financial risks and protect company assets.
  • Coordinate audits and examinations by external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Provide robust leadership and mentorship to the finance team, cultivating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous enhancement.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier talent, building a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting the company's strategic goals.
