The position of Technical Services Supervisor entails overseeing and managing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems that cater to tenant spaces. This role requires the management of operational expenditures, supporting the Energy and Technical Services Manager in daily functions, and effectively addressing complex operations related to tenant utilities provided by the landlord. A strong focus is placed on personnel management, team development, and nurturing positive relationships with tenants.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Strategically managing operational costs through effective planning and procurement.
- Ensuring the efficient operation of HVAC systems serving tenant spaces by establishing clear operational protocols.
- Monitoring and managing utility usage to encourage sustainable operational practices.
- Supervising staff, fostering positive labor relations, and providing training support.
- Enhancing tenant satisfaction by cultivating strong relationships and addressing issues promptly.
- Assisting in the oversight of Plant Operations and coordinating necessary equipment repairs.
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- A post-secondary degree in Building Environmental Systems or a related field.
- FMA Designation or equivalent certification is preferred.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in large commercial settings, with exposure to energy management initiatives and operational oversight.
- Strong interpersonal, computer, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving departmental objectives efficiently.
- Familiarity with maintenance software and building automation systems is advantageous.
