Job Summary

The Director will be responsible for supporting various functions, including effective monitoring and control of material credit risks across RBC's Real Estate Lending Portfolio, and assessment of risks at a transactional level for each individual credit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adjudicate Real Estate credit applications within delegated lending limits, influencing portfolio quality through strategic risk assessment, data quality, and knowledge-sharing.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent processes/controls are in place to protect shareholder interests.
  • Deliver consistent decisions with solid communication of rationale for support, amendments, or declines, treating clients and colleagues with respect and professionalism.
  • Look for opportunities to strengthen the efficiency, accessibility, and responsiveness of key risk processes and practices, partnering with stakeholders to achieve collective results.
  • Act as a catalyst to ensure the team is strategically aligned with business strategies while maintaining the Bank's desired risk profile.
  • Take initiative to proactively seek, demonstrate, and facilitate consistency in credit adjudication, utilizing other resources including other risk teams.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in business or risk-related field, Master's in Finance or Risk, MBA, and pursuit of CFA/FRM designation preferred.
  • Strong risk assessment and financial analysis skills.
  • Business and financial insight.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
