Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Mental Health Services team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based and recovery-based practice to clients who present with concerns related to their mental health and wellness.
You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating client care plans to assist individuals in maximizing their function in everyday life. This will involve collaborating with a Mental Health Care Team and community partners/organizations to provide holistic, client-centered care.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy, with experience working with individuals with mental health and/or concurrent substance abuse disorders. A certificate in Psycho-Social Rehabilitation in Practice or willingness to obtain within one year of hire is also required.
We offer a competitive salary range of $33.80 - $42.68 hourly, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.

About You- Successful completion of a Masters or Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
- Registration (or eligibility) with the College of Occupational Therapists Nova Scotia (COTNS)
- Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or concurrent substance abuse disorders an asset
- Certificate in Psycho-Social Rehabilitation in Practice or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR, First Aid, and WHMIS or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated flexibility in utilizing professional skill sets in a variety of service delivery models and settings
- Ability to use a client-centered approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of and ability to operate word processing applications, electronic mail, spreadsheets, and the internet
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently and be accountable for all actions and decisions
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
