Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) is a key member of the Hamilton Health Sciences team, responsible for performing coagulation tests and procedures in accordance with the laboratory's policies and procedures. This includes chromogenic assays, functional assays, inhibitor assays, platelet function/vWF activity, ELISA, miscellaneous testing, and routine coagulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy and operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Conduct quality control and assurance procedures
- Participate in the implementation of new methodology and evaluations
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuing education
Qualifications
- Current Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) in Hematology
- Demonstrated current knowledge, skill, and ability in tests and procedures performed within the service of Special Coagulation
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to display courtesy and tact with peers, patients, the public, and other healthcare providers
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment
