About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate backhoe excavators and loaders to excavate and move earth materials.
  • Measure and Calculate: Measure distance, volume, length, and weight of excavated materials.
  • Computer-Controlled Equipment: Operate computer-controlled equipment to ensure accurate and efficient excavation.
  • Material Safety: Understand the purpose, proper usage, and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS).
  • Pre-Operational Checks: Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Hydraulic Systems: Operate hydraulic pumping systems to power heavy equipment.
  • Blueprints and Specifications: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate excavation.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification.
  • Industry Experience: Industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI) construction and residential construction experience.
  • Transportation: Own transportation and willing to travel.
  • Work Conditions: Physically demanding work environment with attention to detail and fast-paced environment.
  • Tools and Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, and safety vest.
