Reporting to the Supervisor of Patient Care & Service Delivery and receiving daily operational guidance from the Team Leader of the Medical Device Reprocessing department, the selected candidate will undertake a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Processing and distributing medical supplies
  • Sterilizing surgical, medical, research, and pharmacy materials
  • Maintaining documentation of biological testing
  • Operating decontamination and sterilization machinery, including steam autoclaves and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers
  • Managing inventory control utilizing inventory management software
  • Transporting supplies to various hospital departments
  • Handling designated waste materials

The successful candidate will receive cross-training in additional service areas within the Health Science Centre and may be assigned to various service locations based on operational needs.

Candidates must fulfill the following qualifications:

  • Completion of Secondary School diploma along with a Medical Device Reprocessing Techniques Course and Certification recognized by the MDRAO, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with sterilization methods and strong record-keeping skills
  • Effective communication abilities and meticulous attention to detail
  • Physical capability to perform frequent lifting and a diverse range of motions for various tasks
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential, with the requirement to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Note: The successful applicant must complete the rabies vaccination series and provide proof of protective rabies titre.

Compensation: Hourly rate ranges from $21.76 to $24.30 per hour.
