Our Automation & Digitalization division is in search of a Senior Control Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of control systems tailored for industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee control systems projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project objectives, timelines, and financial plans.
- Create and develop control systems, encompassing both hardware and software elements, to fulfill project specifications.
- Formulate and implement control algorithms and logic.
- Integrate control systems with existing or new machinery, equipment, or processes.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of control systems to verify functionality and compliance with specifications, addressing any issues through systematic debugging techniques.
- Generate technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, user manuals, and maintenance guidelines.
- Formulate and sustain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, including managing the procurement of essential equipment and materials.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and success criteria, identifying opportunities for enhanced automation and electrification within the project.
- Manage project risks and challenges, developing contingency plans and mitigation strategies, while communicating progress and obstacles to stakeholders and senior management.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and timely achievement of project milestones.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates on project status to stakeholders and senior management, including presenting project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technologists.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals.
- Ensure compliance with the ANDRITZ Quality System.
- Exemplify and promote the core values and behaviors of ANDRITZ.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering with a focus on automation and electrification technologies.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial engineering, preferably within the Pulp & Paper sector.
- Experience in consulting engineering is advantageous.
- Registration as an EIT or P.Eng., or AScT in British Columbia is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automation and electrification technologies, including familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and mitigating project risks and challenges.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Willingness to travel to domestic and international sites as required.
