About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper to join our team at Ponoka IDA Drugstore. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounting Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP and tax laws.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, maintain employee benefits records, and ensure compliance with employment standards.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including statistical, financial, and accounting reports, for management and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Skills: Excellent written communication, organizational, and time management skills. Accurate and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
Working Conditions
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 32 hours per week.
