Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, General Procedures Specialist

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, General Procedures Specialist will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients at Fraser Health Authority.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, and small parts, to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
- Prepare patients for testing by reviewing their medical history, explaining procedures, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assist in procedural rooms by setting up equipment, supporting radiologists during interventional procedures, and providing patient care.
- Check and prepare technical worksheets, discuss images with radiologists, and maintain patient and hospital records.
- Participate in quality control duties, equipment maintenance, and training staff on ultrasound procedures and equipment usage.
- Graduate of a recognized training program in Medical Diagnostic Sonography.
- Certified with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Demonstrated knowledge of ultrasound procedures, aseptic techniques, and safe work procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare staff.
