Network and Telecom - Radio Engineer

At Alstom, we're committed to creating a more sustainable and connected world. As a Radio Engineer - Network and Telecom, you'll play a critical role in designing, deploying, and validating network and telecom solutions that enable our customers to move people and goods efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy network and telecom solutions that meet the needs of our customers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute objectives for self and others
  • Utilize expertise to solve problems and improve system performance
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system functional specifications and interface control documents
  • Work with the Radio team to design and implement radio systems that meet coverage and throughput objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in networking or telecommunication
  • 10+ years experience
  • P. Eng certification or in progress

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of radio access network hardware and link-budget analysis
  • Experience with radio propagation, analysis, and post-processing tools
  • Mapping software skills, such as Google Earth, MapInfo, ArcGIS, or Global Mapper
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN networks
  • Knowledge of network security and policies
