Position Overview

The Pharmacy Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of pharmacy services. This position involves various responsibilities that support the pharmacy team and enhance patient care.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting 1 to 2 years in pharmacy technology or assistance.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year and up to 2 years of relevant experience in a pharmacy setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Verify the accuracy of prescription information.
  • Input client data into pharmacy databases.
  • Assist pharmacists in daily operations.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Keep accurate records of prescriptions.
  • Prepare medications for distribution to clients.
  • Compound, package, and label various pharmaceutical products.
  • Process billing for third-party insurers.
  • Prepare oral solutions, ointments, and creams as needed.
  • Organize and oversee inventory management.
