Job Title: High School Science Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced High School Science Teacher to join our team at Westside Academy.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching science to high school students, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for science education and a commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach science to high school students, including biology, chemistry, and physics
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and procedures
  • Supervise teaching assistants and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students with diverse learning styles
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in science education
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in science education or a related field
  • Provincial or Territorial Teaching Certificate
  • Experience teaching science to high school students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
