Position Summary

As a caregiver within the care team, your role will involve providing essential care and support services to residents of independent and semi-independent senior living facilities, assisting them in their daily activities, and enhancing their overall well-being.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Caregivers will be tasked with aiding residents in their hygiene and comfort needs, maintaining a supportive presence to facilitate their recovery or health maintenance, while encouraging their independence.

Daily Resident Assistance

  • Support residents with their needs: feeding, hygiene, positioning, mobility, elimination, and dressing, at their own pace while promoting autonomy
  • Maintain cleanliness in resident rooms and shared areas as required
  • Respond promptly and courteously to call bells and resident inquiries
  • Provide comfort and wellness care within your capabilities
  • Organize recreational activities for residents

Care Delivery Support

  • Administer medications as directed and ensure residents adhere to their schedules
  • Report any observations indicating changes in residents' health to the care team
  • Conduct regular surveillance rounds
  • Adhere to established work and care plans
  • Provide first aid in emergencies
  • Perform other related duties as necessary

Position Requirements:

  • DEP in health facility assistance or home care assistance or APRPA
  • For foreign diplomas, equivalence confirmation is required
  • Current CPR certification
  • PDSB certification
  • Competence 7 Law 90 (preferred)
  • Proficiency in French

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
  • Capability to assess residents' needs and conditions
  • Timely reporting of any safety concerns regarding residents
  • Customer-focused with the ability to engage with elderly individuals
