We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Lead to join our Consumables team at Walmart Canada. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of Consumables Associates, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving business results.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting with product inquiries, and resolving customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Consumables Associates, providing coaching, guidance, and feedback to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
- Collaborate with the Consumables Assistant Manager and Store Management Team to prioritize tasks, set goals, and drive business results.
- Merchandising and Visual Display
- Assess and improve the overall presentation of Consumables Departments, ensuring a visually appealing and well-organized store environment.
- Execute merchandising display changes, including setting up and maintaining displays, and ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Operations and Administration
- Support with scheduling, including creating and managing schedules, and ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Participate in the training and development of Consumables Associates, including providing feedback and coaching to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Leadership Experience
- Proven leadership experience in a retail or customer-facing environment.
- Customer Service Skills
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide a high level of service to customers in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team of associates, managers, and customers.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to drive business results.
While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:
- Education
- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as business, retail management, or a related field.
- Experience
- Previous experience in a leadership role, preferably in a retail or customer-facing environment.
